1. Play for entertainment
Lottery and other games offered through Lotora are games of chance and should be treated as entertainment, not as a way to earn income or solve financial difficulties. A lottery ticket is entertainment, not an income plan.
Participation does not guarantee a prize. Previous wins or losses do not affect the outcome of future draws or instant games.
Players should only spend money they can afford to lose and should never use funds required for essential expenses such as housing, food, utilities, education or debt payments.

2. Age, residency and location requirements
Lotora gaming services are available only to persons who are 18 years of age or older, who are residents of Québec and who are physically located in Québec at the time they access their gaming account and participate in online gaming activities.
Age, identity, residency and location verification measures may be used, including geolocation technology, to confirm that these requirements are met. A person under the age of 18 must not create an account, purchase gaming products or participate in Lotora games.
3. Know your limits
Players are encouraged to decide in advance how much money and time they are comfortable spending on games of chance.
Lotora provides responsible gambling measures designed to help players manage or stop their gaming activity. These include gaming limits, a gambling activity summary, temporary gaming pauses and voluntary self-exclusion.
4. Gaming limits
Players may use the account controls available on the platform to set limits on their gaming activity. Available limits include:
Deposit limits — the maximum amount that may be added to the gaming account over a given period.
Loss limits — the maximum amount that may be lost over a given period.
Time limits — the maximum amount of time that may be spent on gaming activities over a given period.
A gaming limit should reflect the player's personal entertainment budget and should not interfere with essential financial obligations. A reduction of a limit generally takes effect without delay, while a request to increase a limit may be subject to a waiting period or other responsible gambling safeguards.
5. Gambling activity summary
A summary of gambling activity is available in the gaming account. It allows players to review their deposits, withdrawals, amounts wagered, amounts won and lost, and the time spent on gaming activities over a given period.
Reviewing this summary regularly helps players verify whether their participation remains within the limits they intended.
6. Take a break (temporary gaming pause)
Players who want to temporarily stop participating may activate a gaming pause. A temporary gaming pause may be selected for a period from 1 to 89 days.
Once activated, a gaming pause is irrevocable for the selected period and cannot be shortened or cancelled. During the pause, access to eligible gaming functionality is restricted and promotional communications relating to gaming are suspended.
A gaming pause is intended to provide time away from gambling without requiring permanent account closure. Access is restored automatically at the end of the selected period.
7. Self-exclusion
Players who require a longer period away from gambling may use voluntary self-exclusion. Self-exclusion may be selected for a period from 3 months to 5 years.
Self-exclusion is free, confidential and irrevocable for the selected period. It cannot be shortened or cancelled once it has taken effect.
When self-exclusion takes effect, access to the gaming account is blocked in accordance with the applicable self-exclusion conditions, and any remaining balance in the account is returned to the player in accordance with those conditions. Promotional communications relating to gaming are also suspended.
8. Know how you play
Players are encouraged to regularly review their gambling activity and consider whether their participation remains within the limits they intended.
• Am I staying within the budget I planned?
• Am I playing for entertainment?
• Can I comfortably stop when I planned to?
• Would taking a break make sense right now?
9. Warning signs
Gambling may no longer be recreational if it begins to negatively affect a player's finances, relationships, work, studies or wellbeing. Warning signs may include spending more than intended, attempting to recover previous losses by playing more, borrowing money to gamble, hiding gambling activity from others, feeling unable to stop or allowing gambling to interfere with everyday responsibilities.
10. Chasing losses
Game outcomes are based on chance. A previous loss does not increase the likelihood of winning a future game. Players should not increase their spending or frequency of play in an attempt to recover money previously lost. There is no strategy or pattern that can guarantee a winning result.
11. Playing under the influence
Players should avoid making gambling decisions when their judgement may be impaired by alcohol, drugs, severe stress or other circumstances that could affect decision-making. Responsible participation requires players to be able to understand their choices and make informed decisions about their spending.
12. Player protection
Reasonable measures are used to support responsible gambling and protect players. These measures may include age, identity, residency and location verification, responsible gambling information, account controls, gaming limits, temporary gaming pauses, voluntary self-exclusion, restrictions on certain promotional communications and access to support resources.
13. Support and assistance
Free and confidential gambling support is available in Québec to people who are concerned about their own gambling or the gambling behaviour of someone close to them.

Seeking support does not require a person to have a gambling disorder. Players may contact the service whenever they feel that gambling is becoming difficult to control or is negatively affecting their life.
14. Protecting minors
Participation is restricted to persons aged 18 and over. Parents, guardians and other adults are encouraged not to leave gaming accounts, payment methods or authenticated devices accessible to minors. Account credentials should not be shared with another person.
15. Your responsibility
Players are responsible for making informed decisions about whether and how they participate in games of chance. Responsible play includes understanding the rules and odds of a game before participating, setting appropriate limits, monitoring spending and taking a break when gambling no longer feels recreational.
16. Changes to this Responsible Gambling Policy
This Responsible Gambling Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the services, responsible gambling practices or applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The latest version will be published on this page, together with the date of the most recent update.
